Attention all hunters!! We met with the AGFC last week to discuss this upcoming season and any concerns pertaining to the CWD (chronic wasting disease) issue. They assured us that the meat is completely safe to eat. They did say if you see a deer that doesn't look well, if it has an A frame stance, head down , drooling and drinking and peeing at the same time to shoot those but not to eat them to be on the safe side, to call and report it . They stated that CWD will not ever go away, but they are trying to do what they feel is best to slow the progress of the disease. They are wanting to avoid the disease killing off the deer herd completely. CWD spreads through the deer licking or eating after a diseased deer. So it is imperative that the guts and bones be buried or disposed of properly. The AGFC has incinerators that can be used to burn the remains, or we would be more than happy to dispose of any remains for you, burying the remains is the only other option . All deer will be totally deboned, there will not be an option of bone in or out on the steaks, everything will be boneless. As of now deer processing will be $70. Anything already cut up will be .75 cents a lb. Same as last year. I hope this is an amazing deer season for everyone. If you have any questions, feel free to call. Thanks and happy hunting! ...
